In this multi-workshop residency teaching artist Paige Ahlenius presents STEM curriculum (science, technology, engineering, and math) using visual arts. By integrating visual arts into STEM curriculum students build 21st century skills, such as critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Choose from one of these topics:

 

Construction Physics, K-6th, 4 to 6 workshops*
Flight, 4th, 4 workshops*
Physics of Marble Run, 3rd-4th & 7th-8th, 4 workshops*
Properties of Matter, 2nd-3rd, 6 workshops*
Simple Machines, 3rd-6th, 4 to 6 workshops*

Fees: $127 single, $109 each for 2 or more on the same day / Materials cost per residency to be deterimined / The break between workshops must not exceed 90 minutes to receive the reduced rate. Title 1 Schools may qualify for funding assistance.

Program Length: 45 minutes

Requirements: Classroom tables or desks and chairs for students, a large empty area, and large books and plastic bins or cardboard boxes (optional). Teachers must be present at all times during workshop.
