Biome Boogie: Exploring Animal and Plant Adaptations with Dance

Moving MattersKC - Harlan Brownlee

This program is available in person or virtually SYNCHRONOUS (live).

Inspired by Madeleine Dunphy’s book series on the biomes of planet Earth, students explore animal and plant adaptations of protection, camouflage, food obtainment, and locomotion through creative movement and dance. Using short narratives to accompanying their movement studies, they demonstrate their understanding of the characteristics of different environments and the adaptations made by animals and plants to survive in those environments. Biomes offered for this workshop are:

  • The Tropical Rainforest
  • The Southwestern Desert
  • The African Savanna
  • The Wetlands

Available as a single workshop or as a multi-workshop residency.
