Madeleine L’Engle’s science fantasy novel for young people won the Newberry Medal and has become a modern classic of children’s literature.  Three eccentric women beckon the children of a famous physicist to rescue their father from his prison on another planet in another solar system. The physicist’s daughter Meg, son Charles, and their best friend Calvin have incredible adventures in space and time travel before landing on a mysterious world called Camazotz.    Curriculum connections: science fiction and fantasy literature, science, physics, mathematics, space travel, astronomy, live theatre.
