Theatre for Young America teaching artists lead an exciting five-day residency for elementary or Middle School students called GETTING DRAMATIC developed by the Alliance for Drama Education in Hawaii. This award winning program prepares students as PERFORMERS FOR LIFE, developing skills in focusing, listening, communicating with poise and confidence, giving and receiving respect and learning "teacher-student friendly" rules for classroom cooperation. Getting Dramatic! doesn't teach just "acting", instead Getting Dramatic! uses drama activities to help students win the "yeses" in life.  Using both improvisation and scripts, this residency climaxes with the performance of monologues.
