Ballroom Dancing

Culture Through Ballroom Dance

Have a ball with ballroom dance! Learn the Michael Jackson Thriller line dance! Through Merenge, Swing, Salsa, Rumba, Bachata, and the Tango, students learn self-esteem, grow in confidence and learn teamwork in an atmosphere that celebrates physical education through partner dance. This workshop promotes respect, courtesy and etiquette, important life skills, and is fun to boot.

Residency Option:  This interactive dance class would make an excellent residency program within a PE class. This option requires a planning meeting and teacher/volunteer participation.  A writing component may be added to this program and can be aligned to State Standards.

High School Dance Option: The teaching artist will provide lessons on simple Latin and swing dances that work with popular music.
