Simple Machines: Bodies at Work

This workshop is available in person or virtually SYNCHRONOUS (live).
This workshop provides students with dance and movement experiences that help them understand the forces at work in simple machines. Using creative movement, the students develop working movement models of simple machines including the wheel and axle, inclined plane, lever, pulley, and more. Students are asked to demonstrate their understanding of simple machines through the creation of simple machine dances.
Available as a single workshop or as a multi-workshop residency.

Grade Levels: 3,4,5
Fees: $127 single, $109 each for 2 or more on the same day / The break between workshops must not exceed 90 minutes to receive the reduced rate. Title I Schools may qualify for funding assistance.

Teacher Guide: Simple Machines
Requirements: A large, clear space for dancing, preferably a gymnasium or multi-purpose room. If available, a large Screen TV HDMI Compatible. Teachers must be present at all times during workshops.
