Playwriting Workshop
Frank Higgins
Using a collection of video clips from plays and movies, and scenes from which students will read, Frank teaches the basics of dramatic structure. Older students compose their own scenes in small groups or individually; younger students adapt a folktale into a play. Students will read on their feet in order to gain experience in public speaking, projection, and diction.
In a residency the scenes are performed as staged readings.
