Curriculum Alive: Readers Theatre

Susansylvia Scott

This workshop teaches the educator how to energize subject matter, enhance student retention, and increase class involvement by guiding students to research, write, and present their findings. Workshop participants learn how to help students create a script and then use gesture and vocalization to enliven their presentations. This powerful team-building process helps students improve comprehension skills and reading ability, as well as strengthening the teacher-student dynamic. Teachers will leave the workshop with a sample Readers Theatre script and a book to use as reference.
